Why Fugacity coaching?

I decided to call my business Fugacity (from the latin ‘Fugo’ for ‘I escape’) as a nod to my roots as a chemical engineer and because I think there’s a neat parallel with coaching. I believe there can be an element of escape in a good coaching session. Whether it’s taking time away from your everyday life to think about bigger questions, planning your new route to a new career or challenge or stepping away from your current patterns of behaviour to try a new approach.

Grá & creativity

My name Gráinne comes from the old Irish word for the sun but coincidentally my nickname, Grá, means love. I want all my coachees to feel that we are working together in a safe space, crafting something new and wonderful.

Away-day Coaching

How well do you know your team? A deep-dive one-day or half-day session to get to know people better and how to best collaborate. A fun, engaging and productive alternative to an away-day with real benefits for everyone.

What to expect

Before starting coaching formally I schedule a 30 minute chemistry chat with a prospective coachee to talk about coaching and confirm that we would work well together.

Once we start coaching sessions, I will bring some structure so setting a goal for the session is a good starting point. After that we’ll see where the conversation takes us - you’ll be doing most of the talking!

I do like to bring in some creative techniques so don’t be surprised if I ask you to grab some paper and pens or a spare chair!

Contact me to get started with a 30 minute chat.

Feedback for Fugacity Coaching

  • Emma Kennedy, MD The Echo Newspaper

“Gráinne listened intently to everything I discussed about trying to find the best work life balance and how to better navigate our family run business as I pursued a second career.

She offered great advice and practical tools that I implemented and continue to use to this day, giving me great clarity on my role and future in the family business, helping me with my new venture and how to juggle all the different hats I wear, which resulted in a better, more productive, work life balance.

I would highly recommend Gráinne as a coach for both professional or personal challenges you are facing.”

  • Róisín Guiry

“I found the goal setting focus really helpful and it felt productive to be working towards this. Over the months my family life situation changed and with that my goal changed. Grainne handled this with ease, helping me to reframe my goal to suit my needs now, making sure I still got a lot from the sessions.

Grainne helped me to understand how I was feeling about work issues/situations and to come up with solutions myself. Overall it felt very empowering. I have tools now that I keep visible at my desk and that I look to when I need to check myself or a situation and that is so supportive. I would highly recommend Grainne and would like to thank her for all support in helping me work through and achieve my goal.”

  • Aoife

“I was introduced to Grainne through a mutual connection without really knowing what it was that coaching could do - I just knew that I felt stuck in my life, both professionally and in terms of personal development. I assumed that coaching would be along the lines of coaching a team and being told what to do – which would be wonderful – but it isn’t that at all. It is a lot deeper and really involves self-discovery and contemplation as the answers have to come from you, yourself.

It is a vulnerable place to be but it doesn’t feel like that with Grainne’s guidance. So often I have a lightbulb moment as we speak. Again, not that I’m being told what to do or think but rather with prompting and asking the right questions at the right time, Grainne has helped me realise what I know to be true. And she is just a fabulous person who is wise and kind.”

  • Raul Garcia Raynor

“I had the opportunity to get coaching with Gráinne to help me work through a career change. She helped me review and frame how I was approaching this work and successfully defined vision, values, strengths, shadows and more around my life purpose. If you put the work in, Gráinne's coaching can help you get the clarity you need to move forward.”

  • Lizzie Fraser

“Working with Gráinne was my first experience with coaching and it exceeded all my expectations. She listened to me carefully, without judgement, and supported me to find my own answers using a range of questions and exercises. I am immensely grateful for her kindness, patience, and insight. I feel I have come away from our sessions with a better understanding of myself, as well as a toolkit for approaching future professional challenges.”

  • Lisa Van Noten

“I appreciated the structure Gráinne brought to our sessions. We tackled my challenges step by step. Her targeted questions pushed me to deeply think through each one and establish clear actions.

What I valued most about working with Gráinne was her personalised approach. She let me take the lead and consistently checked in to get my thoughts on her suggested tools and guidance. Her approach ensured that every action I took felt true to myself. This awareness that different personalities require different approaches accelerated my progress towards my goals.

Thanks to Gráinne's coaching I now have a clear understanding of what I want from my next job and how to position myself as the best candidate.”

  • Eugene

“Grainne helped me navigate through specific work load challenges, providing invaluable insights and practical strategies. Grainne's empathetic and supportive approach made me feel understood and empowered. Thanks to Grainne's guidance, I have achieved progress and I feel more confident and motivated than ever. I highly recommend Grainne to anyone looking to make positive changes in their life.”

  • Alena

“It has been so easy to open up to you and talk about the things that I usually wouldn’t.

It helped me to set up clear long-term goals and vision for my career as well as navigate some challenges in my personal life, especially related to juggling very busy job and young kids! Thank you very much again for your kindness and professionalism.”
